The Bible is clear that there are two possible destinations for every human soul following physical death: heaven or hell.
Death means everlasting punishment for those who do not receive Jesus Christ as Saviour.
2 Thessalonians 1:8–9 (ESV) in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.
Luke 16:24 (ESV) And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’
Revelation 20:14–15 (ESV) Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
The misery of hell will consist of physical torture and the agony of being cut off from every avenue of happiness. God is the source and giver of all good things. To be separated from God is to be forever shut off from the light.
Matthew 8:12 (ESV) while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
There will be no second chances to repent and be saved after death.
Hebrews 9:27 (ESV) And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.
Hell has no redemption to offer, only suffering. Hell is a real place for those who continue in their rebellion against God.
Romans 6:23 (ESV) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 3:18 (ESV) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says in the end, ‘Thy will be done.’” – C.S. Lewis
Today, choose life, choose an eternity with God.
John 3:17 (NIV) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
1 John 5:11-12 (NIV) And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
