God is absolute perfection in His character and in His ways – there is nothing lacking in Him. Human beings, on the other hand, are imperfect in their makeup and behaviour. We are reminded that His word, His way is perfect, and His word has been tried and proved, again and again. Psalm 33:4 “For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth”
God keeps his promises. Numbers 23:19a “God is not a human that He would lie” When God makes a promise to us, it will be accomplished through His sovereignty.
God is faithful. Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV) “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
Life is challenging. People will disappoint us. We may even fall short in keeping some of our promises to others. But no matter what happens in life, we can hold on to this profound truth, God will never break His promises. Never. He is trustworthy and faithful
2 Timothy 2:13 (NLT) “If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.”
God will do what He says He will do. This is something we can confidently rely on forever! Not only is God’s way perfect and His promises true, but He is our shield of protection. To be under God’s shield is to have God as your protector, to trust that God would look out for you, safeguard you. But even more, to have God as your shield means that you are His, you belong to Him, you fight under his shield and He protects you as His own.
Psalm 3:3 “But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head”
Psalm 119:114 “Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word”
Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
God is our shield. Ephesians 6:16b “take up the shield of faith”. The shield of faith was used by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego when thrown into the furnace and it protected them. It was employed by Job when suffering immensely, and it rejected his wife’s taunting of him to ‘curse God and die.
Whatever fiery darts the enemy may shoot at you today, we have a shield that will quench them all.
