Proverbs 3:6(TLB) In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.
Matthew 6:31-34(MSG) “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers – most of which are never even seen – don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
Many people put other things first, before God. Some put their job or profession first, others put the accumulation of wealth first. There are people who put pleasure first and some put their family first.
What does it mean to put God first?
Submit to God. Romans 12:1(MSG) So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life- – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life–and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Isaiah 41:10(MSG) “Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.”
The moment you walk in God’s will for your life – putting him first, God will be with you.
Fix your attention on God. Rom 12:2(MSG) Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
Psalm 19:14(NLT) May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Isaiah 26:3(NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Jonah 2:7(ESV) When my life was fainting away, I remembered the LORD, and my prayer came to you, into your holy temple.
You’ll be changed from the inside out!
