The Day of Judgement
2Pe 2:9 The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unjust for a day of judgment, to be punished,
2Pe 3:7 But the present heavens and the earth being kept in store by the same Word, are being kept for fire until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
Mat 12:36 But I say to you that every idle word, whatever men may speak, they shall give account of it in the day of judgment.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment,
Is there a judgement day coming? Absolutely. Will everyone be judged? Yes Will believers be judged? Yes, Will unbelievers be judged? Yes. Will we be judged by grace or works? Yes, by both. Salvation is by grace and not works. Judgement will be by grace and works. In both judgements you will be judged by works
Each person will be judged according to its works
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether evil.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death and hell delivered up the dead in them. And each one of them was judged according to their works.
1Pe 1:17 You call him Father, when you pray to God, who judges all people by the same standard, according to what each one has done; so then, spend the rest of your lives here on earth in reverence for him.
Mat 16:27 For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he will give to every man the reward of his works.

Rev 22:12 See, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give to every man the outcome of his works.
God is going rewards each and every one according to their works. Are saved by works not at all.
Eph 2:8 Because by grace you have salvation through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is given by God:
Eph 2:9 Not by works, so that no man may take glory to himself.
It is all about Believe and Behaviour
Our believe determines where we spend eternity. Our behaviour determines how we spend eternity. Our believe determines whether we spend eternity in heaven or hell? Our behaviour determines how we will be rewarded in heaven or hell?
There are two judgements;
The Judgement of Jesus Christ – every person there is a believer, and
The Great White Throne Judgement – every person is an unbeliever.
So why do we need these judgements if we already know how is going to heaven or to hell? The reason is not to determine your believe. Your believe is already determined by the judgement you are going to attend.
At each judgement your behaviour will be judged. It therefor matters how you live. It matters what you do on this earth. Your believe will determine your behaviour.
The two judgements
The Judgement seat of Christ
2Co 5:10 For we all have to come before Christ to be judged; so that every one of us may get his reward for the things done in the body, good or bad.
Rom 14:10 But you, why do you make yourself your brother’s judge? or again, why have you no respect for your brother? because we will all have to take our place before God as our judge.
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 1Co 3:11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1Co 3:12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 1Co 3:13 each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 1Co 3:14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 1Co 3:15 If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
You can be a believer and build with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw.
Mat 6:1 Take care not to do your good works before men, to be seen by them; or you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. Mat 6:2 When then you give money to the poor, do not make a noise about it, as the false-hearted men do in the Synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. Truly, I say to you, They have their reward. Mat 6:3 But when you give money, let not your left hand see what your right hand does: Mat 6:4 So that your giving may be in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will give you your reward.
The Father himself will reward you. The Father is going to give you rewards personally. You are going to meet the Father personally. He is going reward you according to your works.
1John 2:28 Yes, my children, remain in union with him, so that when he appears we may be full of courage and need not hide in shame from him on the Day he comes.
Store-up some treasure for you in heaven.
Matthew 6:19-21: Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
The Great White Throne Judgement
Rev 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sits on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence and were seen no more. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the throne. Books were opened, and then another book was opened, the book of the living. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.
Books – your behaviour – Your works
Book of life – your believe.
Rev 20:13 Then the sea gave up its dead. Death and the world of the dead also gave up the dead they held. And all were judged according to what they had done. Rev 20:14 Then death and the world of the dead were thrown into the lake of fire. (This lake of fire is the second death.) Rev 20:15 Those who did not have their name written in the book of the living were thrown into the lake of fire.
The unbelievers will also be rewarded according to their works. The will be different degrees of punishment. God is a just God. He will reward each according to their works.

Mat 11:23 En jy, Kapérnaüm, wat tot die hemel toe verhoog is, jy sal tot die doderyk toe neergestoot word; want as in Sodom die kragtige dade plaasgevind het wat in jou plaasgevind het, sou hy bly staan het tot vandag toe. Mat 11:24 Maar Ek sê vir julle dat dit vir die land van Sodom verdraagliker sal wees in die oordeelsdag as vir jou.
Rom 2:5 But you have a hard and stubborn heart, and so you are making your own punishment even greater on the Day when God’s anger and righteous judgments will be revealed. Rom 2:6 For God will reward each of us according to what we have done. Rom 2:7 Some people keep on doing good, and seek glory, honor, and immortal life; to them God will give eternal life.
The way you are behaving you will be rewarded.
You get to choose which judgement you will attend You can only choose while you on earth. You can choose today. After you die it is too late. You can choose today. Choose today to follow Jesus.
