How Do We Know Jesus is the Only Way?
John 14:6, (NIV) “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father [God] except through me”
Jesus did not say a way. He didn’t say one of the ways. He said, “I am the way”.
He said that “I’m the only way. I’m the way. “The truth and the life'”. He clarifies it even further and says this, “No one comes to the Father except through Me”.
In Acts 4:12, the Apostle Peter said of Jesus, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
Jesus was “chosen by God” to be the Saviour
1 Peter 2:4 (ESV) As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,
Jesus is the only One to have come down from heaven and returned there.
John 3:13 (ESV) “No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.”
He is the only person to have lived a perfect human life
Hebrews 4:15 (ESV) “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
He is the only sacrifice for sin
1 John 2:2-3 (MSG) “I write this, dear children, to guide you out of sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a Priest-Friend in the presence of the Father: Jesus Christ, righteous Jesus. When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s.”
He is the only man to have conquered death forever
Hebrews 2:14-15 (LB) “Since we, God’s children, are human beings—made of flesh and blood—he became flesh and blood too by being born in human form; for only as a human being could he die and in dying break the power of the devil who had the power of death. 15 Only in that way could he deliver those who through fear of death have been living all their lives as slaves to constant dread.
He is the only Mediator between God and man
1 Timothy 2:5 (ESV) “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”
He is the only man whom God has “exalted to the highest place”
Philippians 2:9 (ESV) Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,

I am – In the Greek language, “I am” is a very intense way of referring to oneself. It would be comparable to saying, “I myself, and only I, am.”
The way – “the only way.”
Acts 4:12 (ESV) “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
The truth
1 John 5:20 (NKJV) “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”
The life
John 14:19 (ESV) “Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.”
We are spiritually dead in our sins, separated from the life of God. But Jesus is the very life of God, and came to give us spiritual life by restoring us to a proper relationship to God. He alone is “the life” and the only meaning to life.
