What we believe
Transforming people from a self-centered life to a Christ-like life. In Ephesians 1 we have four prayers for every person joining CLC
1. KNOW GOD
“[I pray]…that you may know Him better [personally].” Ephesians 1:17-18
2. FIND FREEDOM
“[I pray]…that the eyes of your heart be enlightened (focused and clear).” Ephesians 1:17-18
3. DISCOVER PURPOSE
“(I pray)…know the hope to which He has called you.”
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” Romans 12:6
4. MAKE A DIFFERENCE
“[I pray]…that you may grasp the way of life He has for His followers.” Ephesians 1:17-18
“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:8
Our Vision
We believe the Bible to be the inspired – the only infallible – authoritative word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
We believe there in one God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, who subsist in unity, and also as three distinct persons. (Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6)
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death on the cross to provide for our redemption and through His shed blood in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension into Heaven to the right hand of the Father, in His present ministry of intercession for us, and in His personal and literal return in power and glory. (Matthew 1:23 & 28:6; Luke 1:26-38 & 21:27; John 1:1-4 & 6:19; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 3:24; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4; 4:15; 7:25 & 8:1)
We believe that salvation is a gift through repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ; that every person who truly is saved will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell; and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. (Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7)
We believe in the gifts and ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables every Christian to live a godly life. The Holy Spirit is the Divine helper, assistant, counsellor and instructor; and His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, guide believers, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul. (Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:16-18)
Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16)
We believe in the Spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. The Church comprises of local congregations of baptised believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the head, who has provided for equipping ministries for the edifying of his Body. Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12,27; Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:11-12)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. (1 Corinthians 15:51-57); Revelation 20:11-15)
We believe that both the Great Commandment and the Great Commission are the responsibilities of both the Church and each Christian. (Matthew 22:37-40 & 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15)
