8 February 2021- God is my helper

The Hebrew phrase Jehovah ‘Ezer is translated as the “LORD [my] Help” or the “LORD [our] Help.

Hebrews 13:6 (NASB) “so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”

In a manner similar, David describes God as “the LORD…my Shepherd” – Jehovah Roi. GOD is our Shepherd Who guides and protects us, so too is He our Helper Who comes to our aid in a time of need.

Psalm 27:9 (NASB) “Do not hide Your face from me, Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation!”

Psalm 30:10 (NASB) “Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me; O Lord, be my helper.”
Psalm 40:17 (NASB) “Since I am afflicted and needy, Let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God.”

If you need help in your life, then Jehovah Ezrah is the divine help you can call on.

Psalm 52:8 (TLB) I am like a sheltered olive tree protected by the Lord himself. I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

Psalm 30:10-12 (NIV) “Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.” 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.”

In this psalm, David was recalling the great wonders God had performed for him. David had cried to the Lord, “Be my help”. And God did it! He turned David’s mourning into joy. What did David do then? David said, “I will give you praise forever.”

In the tests and trials of life, we can worry and fear, or we can lift our hands with thanksgiving to God, saying, “Lord, You are my Helper. Thank You!

Who can harm us, if we have Almighty God, our helper and strength. The most impressive thing is that David asked the Lord to help him and take care of him wherever he was, there were moments where the life of this man was in dangerous places, but God came to his aid and freed him.

Even when people turn, their backs against you, God is always there with his arms open for you no matter what the situation is. -Lincey Alphonse

Remember, God is greater that any problem you may have, give it to Him.
